01/18 versus 01/19 Rosso del Palazzone Jun 25 Written By Jenny Cuddihy View this post on Instagram Rosso del Palazzone is a crazy value made from 100% sangiovese and always from wine that has been grown and vinified as a Brunello di Montalcino (but declassified and bottled younger). It's also always a blend of vintages. In this video I cover some basic information about Montalcino (all off the cuff, as always, so do go and read up on it if you want the full story). It's quite an interesting history with only about 11 producers back in the 1960s and now a few hundred. There's also been some controversy in the 2000s when some naughty producers where caught blending international varieties into their wine. Brunello is an expensive wine but thankfully this vino rosso is affordable and a true representation of Montalcino. Check it out @ilpalazzone and you can buy it from @cambridgewinemerchants #winewizard #vino #sommelier #sommlife #brunellodimontalcino #sangiovese #tuscany #toscana #vinoitaliano A post shared by Maxwell Allwood (@maxwell_the_wine_wizard) on Jun 24, 2020 at 11:19am PDT Jenny Cuddihy
