Goodbye and Hello

We are sad to share the news that Laura Gray is leaving Il Palazzone. We are very sorry to lose her, although we are excited for her as she discovers her next adventures. For now, she is planning to finish her book, The Magpies Guide to Montalcino, while she considers new opportunities.

Laura has guided and nurtured Il Palazzone through 19 years of change and transition. Under her steady hand for nearly two decades, Il Palazzone has grown in size and stature to the enviable position it now occupies in Montalcino. Her strong leadership and dedication have built an amazing foundation for the company and the vineyard. Through increasing the land, expanding production, perfecting the winemaking, and building the customer base, Laura’s passion and dedication have been critical to the success of Il Palazzone.

In 2012, she was instrumental in the design and construction of the spectacular new Cantina, and in 2015, establishment of the cru Le Due Porte was a crowning achievement. We are very fortunate that she leaves with a variety of improvements and projects already underway to keep us on the upward path she set. Her tenure here was very much a labour of love, and we look forward to sharing our ongoing successes with her going forward. As with all change, however difficult it may be for us, we know it will offer Laura an opportunity to scale new heights and find new fulfillment.

We are pleased to announce that Tullia Battaglia has joined us, bringing with her 15 years of experience in the wine business in Montalcino.

Tullia, welcome to #teamilpalazzone , we are so happy to have you here!
