Now serving Brunello by the glass at Del Posto!

The age old dilemma of what wine to order when you go to a restaurant as a couple and one of you wants to order steak while the other wants to order fish usually boils down to the same simple solution: you each get a wine by the glass to accentuate your own unique dish. As of last week, Del Posto in the Meatpacking District of New York City is now offering Il Palazzone Brunello by the glass!  The 2003 Brunello is intense and ethereal with secondary notes of fruit and oak, silky and elegant, tasting potent with sweet but important tannins.  The Del Posto bar scene creates the perfect ambience to sip this vino da meditazione amongst the friendly bartenders, as you nibble on gourmet bar snacks and listen to smooth music played by the live pianist. Wine Advocate gave the 2003 Brunello 90 points, the Decanter World Wine Awards commended the vintage and it won a Silver Medal in the San Francisco International Wine Competition. If a glass is not enough (and when is it ever?!), then while at Del Posto you can order a magnum of the 2004 Riserva, complete with a personalized Del Posto label!
