Brunello 2015 vintage tile: 5 is the magic number

After an excellent growing season it came as no surprise to Montalcino producers when the 2015 vintage was awarded the maximum five stars. Brunello vintages are evaluated in the February following harvest. The outcome is announced at the Benvenuto Brunello event and a tile is placed on the walls of the old town hall to commemorate the vintage. See here for a fascinating insider’s view of the evaluation process.

The 2015 tile celebrates the number five; this five star vintage is commemorated by an original art from five artists, five decades since Brunello became one of the first DOC wines in Italy.

The artists are Montalcino producer Sandro Chia,  the man behind the mosaic roundabout in town,  fellow Transavantgardista artist Mimmo Paladino , Pino DeodatoGian Marco Montesano and ceramics duo Bertozzi & Casoni
